Creating a Healthier Relationship with Food
Eating healthy doesn’t need to be complicated, time-consuming or boring – it’s a journey full of interesting, rewarding and tasty surprises.
What is a Health Coach?
I am the one that holds you accountable so you can finally address your health goals, it can be a tough road to go alone! But you don’t have to.
As a student of health and general wellness enthusiast, I’m always asked the question: “Should I be eating this?” I recall my days of perplexity about what to eat with a specific end goal to feel empowered and losing weight. I Googled the heck out of “healthy” recipes, tried different “fat burning pills” and what’s “healthy”. During my journey, I realized how much I had to go through a lot of mismatched information. It was freaking insane if you ask me. But the more I learned the more I found myself giving advice to friends and family. That’s when I discovered that I had a passion for helping people develop a simple and clear approach to eating well.
There’s so much disregard to the way of life decisions that influence our well-being and the way we eat such as our occupations, connections, innovative outlets and exercises. Many eating routines or well-being programs are pre-bundled and don’t consider our individuality. As far as I can tell, nutritionists always endorse certain foods to eat in view of side effects yet don’t offer help in rolling out those dietary improvements or consider a way of life that helps to change our habits.
It can be overwhelming to try to take this on alone.
Health Coaches have their own way of doing things. What makes me different? Well, I’ve learned that first, you have to understand that there are deeper issues behind your nutrition or lack there of. I’ve learned that you have to acknowledge what’s holding you back in order to move forward. How do I do this: Here’s how:
- I use a customized approach that looks at habits as well as food choices
- I kick the calorie counting and scale to the side
I offer tasty alternatives to sweet or processed ‘treats’
I believe in creating food selections that support the surroundings
- I prove that healthy eating is both affordable and economical

A mother of 5 girls I had to learn how to eat, cook and live a healthy lifestyle. It wasn’t always easy and it was frustrating.
Some things have been consistent in my lifetime (I was always the family mediator, always singing, always spotting the butterflies in nature), but many things have changed. I grew up eating mostly hamburgers, bagels, processed cereal and a lot of Pepsi. Over time, I realized that food affected my mood and that learning to cook was a way to be more adventurous and wise with my food choices.
I am someone who maintains a not so very busy lifestyle. I work from home, my little ones attend cyber school. We are pretty much home all day.
Well, let me let you in on a little secret – there is always a natural route to feeling better.
I have lived in New York pretty much all my life. Everything I did and everywhere I went was by walking and public transportation. When I moved to Philadelphia I realized I had gained more weight despite eating healthy.
I received my health coach training from the Health Coach Institute, where I was trained in different dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My education has provided me with intensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health.
